Fostering Creativity, Welcoming the Future!

FestX 5.0 marked the fifth consecutive edition of an exciting event celebrating the grand inauguration of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Moratuwa. Organized to warmly welcome the incoming batch, the event created a vibrant platform for students to connect, collaborate, and explore their technical and creative potential.

This year's edition featured two competitions that fostered both creativity and technical skills. ModelX challenged participants to design innovative 3D models using Blender, while WebX pushed students to create dynamic personal portfolio websites.

The event concluded with an inspiring inauguration ceremony, which included welcome remarks by Ms. Upeksha Erandi, Chairwoman of WIE UoM, an introduction to IEEE WIE by Ms. Hiruni Hettiarachchi, and the announcement of the competition winners.

Insighture, the event’s Platinum Partner, enriched the experience further through workshops and guest talks. Ms. Anjalie Cooray and Ms. Ridmi Thilakarathna shared valuable career insights, while Mr. Shehan Samarasinghe conducted a practical session for WebX participants. ModelX participants also benefited from expert guidance provided by Mr. Jiyath Amasara and Mr. Sampath Samaraweera.

FestX 5.0 served as a memorable start for the new batch, helping new members step confidently into the WIE community and celebrating the growing legacy of IEEE WIE at the University of Moratuwa.
