Inspiring the Future Generation

The IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Moratuwa proudly organized Futuro 2.0 on the 8th of April 2025 at Princess of Wales College, Moratuwa, starting from 8.30 AM onwards. This inspiring initiative was aimed at Advanced Level Science students, helping them explore diverse opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The event featured two insightful sessions. The first was conducted by Dr. Chathuranga Hettiarachchi, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa, who delivered an eye-opening session on “Emerging Technologies Shaping the Future”, introducing students to cutting-edge advancements and their impact on the world.

This was followed by Chathura Gunasekara, a final-year undergraduate of University of Moratuwa, who led an engaging session titled “What Lies Beyond the University Gates”, offering valuable advice and firsthand experiences to help students prepare for their journey beyond school.

Futuro 3.0 served as a valuable platform to broaden perspectives, ignite ambition, and empower students to pursue their passions. It was a day filled with inspiration, curiosity, and meaningful learning.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our esteemed speakers for sharing their time and insights, and to everyone who joined us and made the event a success. Together, let’s continue to uplift and guide the next generation of changemakers.
